MODDED SOCIETY – A Collaboration Between M0D44 & A.SOCIETY

This project started the way most good things do: with a long conversation, an idea that didn’t fully make sense at first, and mutual respect for things that are slightly off. One year later, we’re proud to present MODDED SOCIETY – a collaboration between Kyiv-based M0D44 and Hong Kong eyewear label A.SOCIETY.

What started as a simple question – what would accessories look like in a modded future? – turned into a full design system: eyewear, apparel, accessories and a shared visual language pulled from tech glitches, industrial tools, distorted typography and questions about identity in the age of AI.

The Brands

M0D44 is a Kyiv-based brand, known for fusing graphic design, workwear, and subcultural references into apparel that’s more about attitude than trends. A.SOCIETY is an independent eyewear label born in Hong Kong, shaped by Asia’s underground art and music scene, and obsessed with craft, material, and fit. We both like to make things that don’t shout but speak clearly – and sometimes cryptically – to those who know what they’re looking at.

The Collaboration

The collection includes a custom-designed pair of sunglasses in three colorways, a stainless steel pendant, a dark brown graphic T-shirt, a bucket hat, and utilitarian bags. Everything in the drop carries the symbol of MODDED SOCIETY – a fictional tool, part branding glyph, part sci-fi relic. It shows up in the hinge design of the eyewear, on the back of the tee, and as a wearable object around the neck.

We weren’t chasing nostalgia or futurism – just trying to respond to the world we’re already living in: messy, hybrid, a little unstable. The result is gear for people building new systems (or quietly dismantling old ones).

The Details

The sunglasses feature a lightweight acetate frame, titanium temples, and UV400 protection. They’re engineered for comfort but shaped to stand out — somewhere between tactical eyewear and design object.

The pendant is made of stainless steel, with a 45cm chain and a form inspired by abstract multi-tools. It’s a subtle nod to survival gear, filtered through a cultural lens.

The tee is made from soft dark brown cotton with minimal front branding and a bold back graphic — a wearable contradiction of simplicity and excess.

Why MODDED?

Because everything around us is modded now — jobs, tools, language, even our faces. Nothing stays original for long, and maybe that’s fine. This collection isn’t about purity or permanence. It’s about adaptation.
